Trash and Recycling

The Westford Transfer Station, located on Strong Hill Road, north of the hamlet.

  • Hours are Tuesday and Saturday from 6am-2pm

  • Household waste only is accepted, only from town of Westford residents at no charge for the first five bags

  • Trash in excess of five bags will be charged a $5.00 per-bag fee

  • Scrap metal is accepted from anyone with no fee

  • ALL Town of Westford Residents (tax payers & renters) MUST have an authorized permit to dispose of garbage. Permits are free to town residents and available at the Town Clerk's office. Proof of residency (tax bill, utility bill, etc. - with your physical address (not mailing address) is required. 

  • Non-Residents may use the facility at a fee of $5.00 per bag.  

Note: Certain types of agricultural film plastics can be recycled through the Recycling Agricultural Plastics Program (RAPP). To participate in RAPP, contact Otsego County Conservation Association at (607) 282-4087. Baling is being performed by Otsego County Soil & Water Conservation District, (607) 547-8337.
